Salt Casting - A story of the sea

Pia has explored the beauty of designing pieces with an organic nature, casting molten metal into harvested sea-salt from the Ayrshire coasts of Scotland. The results are unique, distinctive and timeless.

Pop Up @ Princess Square Glasgow
A heritage destination

Handmade By Pia, has started 2025, with a beautiful partnership at Princes Square a destination shopping and dining destination in Glasgow.

A wonderful opportunity for you to meet the designer and view the current collection of handmade jewellery.

The original buildings consisted of a 4 storey merchant square built in yellow sandstone and completed in 1841. The then owner, James Campbell, was knighted by Queen Victoria and later became Lord Provost of Glasgow. In celebration of the birth of the Prince of Wales, later to become Edward VII, he named his new building Princes Square.

Now a collection of Grade B listed buildings.

 Client's Testimonials

Pia made me a bespoke,  adjustable  ring in gold and silver to replace my wedding ring (which had to be cut off as a result of my arthritis)

She communicated brilliantly throughout (we are in different countries so hadn't met  in person to be able consult and discuss options) presenting me with ideas and suggestions for styles but never forcing the process.

She was  always  aware of my requirements and my  comfort and the day to day  practicality of the ring.

The ring arrived today, beautifully packaged,  hallmarked and polished and is my new favourite ! Thank you Pia you're a very talented designer.

My Story

Swizzle Tree.png

Handmade by Pia, is a new brand of jewellery made from a labour of love, dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces that reflect individual style and creativity. Pia believes in the creation of fine jewellery pieces made completely by hand using traditional methods, including hand engraving to personalise special pieces. Each piece is meticulously hand crafted with attention to detail and a touch of personal flair, making every creation unique.

Swizzlesis a unique collection of sterling silver, copper or gold small sticks used to stir drinks. The original swizzle sticks were created in the 18th century at a rum plantation in the West Indies using the branch of the Quararibea Turbinata (also known as the "Swizzle stick tree").

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, stir sticks made of glass were created to shake out the bubbles from champagne, whose bubbles was the cause of indigestion for some drinkers. Swizzles are available on commission for the perfect gift solution, evoking nostalgia at a fine dining event, weddings, new parents, birthdays, anniversary, or just to enhance the etiquette of fine drinking.
